We are a major European supplier to automotive, agricultural and material handling equipment manufacturers. We have been successfully operating on the market for 28 years. Thanks to our historical connection to Tatra manufacturing, we have benefited from more than 100 years of experience in the industry. Our manufacturing halls house a unique combination of production processes that offer a complete solution for the final part and for assembly. We are constantly modernizing our plants and this makes us one of the most important engineering companies in the Czech Republic.
TAWESCO is a part of the PROMET GROUP, a family-owned company representing more than forty companies operating in machinery, metallurgy and engineering. It employs over four thousand people in the Czech Republic and abroad. The headquarters of the group is in Ostrava.

Our customers
Our major customers include automakers of the Volkswagen Group , led by Škoda Auto, VW, Audi, Bentley, SEAT, TPCA, Volvo and many others. We also manufacture our own welding fixtures, which are then used to create frames for Tatra, frames and axles for the agricultural or forestry industry such as for John Deere harvesters and many parts for the handling equipment of Linde, Fenwick, Krone and others.

The origin of TAWESCO
TAWESCO was founded in 1995 as a spin-off of the TATRA tool rooms. The name Tawesco is a compound of the English words Tatra Welding and Stamping.
New stamping plant
Adding a stamping plant to the company = a wide portfolio of blanks of various sizes and thicknesses. We offer the manufacture of tools and dies for a specific blank in our facility, but also the assembly of individual products by spot welding.
Automotive industry supplier
At the beginning of the new millennium, we were recognized as a quality supplier in the automotive sector.
Welding Shop
In 2004, we added a welding shop to the company. We focus mainly on the manufacture of heavy weldments and products for making heavy trucks and forestry and agricultural machinery.
Visteon Award
In 2006, we were awarded the title of Visteon Important Partner for our commitment to continuous improvement in customer service.
Volkswagen group award: TOP 100 suppliers
In 2007, our company was included in the prestigious Volkswagen Group Award list, which recognizes the top 100 suppliers of Europe’s largest car manufacturer.
Promet Group
TAWESCO becomes a subsidiary of the Czech company Promet Group a.s., which is a family-owned company representing more than forty companies operating in machinery, metallurgy and engineering.
Expansion of the company
In 2017, TAWESCO established the subsidiaries STECOMTRA a.s. and TAWESCO AUTOMOTIVE s.r.o.
